Tijuana’s admiration for the craft beer scene in California has inspired the city to start their own local breweries. Some of the best bars in Tijuana now serve locally brewed craft beer. Now that there’s over 80 craft breweries, beer lovers will have no problem finding their favorite cantina.
The tap bar at Border Psycho
We enjoy taking our guests to the Border Psycho, but there are many outstanding breweries that serve fantastic beer. Here are some of our favorite craft breweries serving the best beer in Tijuana and why we think you should give them a try!
Cerveceria Ramuri – Unique Local Flavors

Named the Best Mexican Artisan Brewery in 2012, you can’t miss the unique local flavors of Cerveceria Ramuri. This brewery is one of the liveliest bars in Tijuana and it becomes even more energetic during an epic sports game. The handcrafted wooden bar and spacious entry way provides a rustic ambiance. Special flavors such as the Peanut Butter Porter, the White Devil Pilsner, and the Black Tears Oatmeal Stout will make you want to order more rounds. You’ll never want to leave!
Cerveza Fauna – Cheers to Art and Beer!

Another prized brewery, Cerveza Fauna, has recently received medals for their crafted hops. Not only do they make a flavorful beer, their bottle labels are uniquely drawn by a local artist. They have a Brown Ale, Belgian Blonde, an Indian Pale Ale and many more popular styles. When you order a glass, be sure to take a picture of the animal character drawn on the side.
Mamut Brewery Co. – Lively Entertainment with a Good Brew

Mamut Brewery Co. is a treasured brewery in Tijuana. Everyone in the city knows about their refreshing brews. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, which is in a very entertaining setting since the bar is located in Zona Centro. Not only does Mamut Brewery Co. serve excellent craft beers, they have free entertainment too. Many bands, DJs, and instrumental musicians perform weekly. The entrance is generally libre!
Zenzontle Tijuana – Drink Their Famous Homemade Pulque

Located in Plaza Fiesta, Zenzontle Tijuana is definitely a nightlife craft beer bar. The first thing you’ll notice when you sit at the bar are giant jugs of colorful concoctions placed on the shelf. Those sweet mixtures that glow in your glass once poured are known as “pulque,” a milky alcoholic drink made from agave juice. This isn’t a beer brewery but it’s a great place to get a local craft or try the homemade pulque.
Cerveza Tijuana – Serving a Variety of Craft Beer Favorites

This spacious brewery is a well-known spot located down the street from the Torre de Agua Caliente. Many visitors rave about their special craft called the Tijuana Morena. The caramelized malts and chocolate within this brew provide a pleasant mixture of sweet and bitter flavors. If you prefer lagers, the Tijuana Rosarito will surely impress your tastebuds. Named after a beautiful destination in Baja, this medium-bodied lager has a crisp, bubbly taste.
